Mount Joy is proud to host vibrant Scouting America units for boys and girls of all ages: We bring the best of Scouting America’s positive, values-driven programming to families right here in Mount Joy; and our Scouts come from Donegal, Manheim Central, Manheim Township, Elizabethtown and Columbia School districts. Our inclusive environment welcomes youth of all backgrounds. Whether exploring new trails, earning badges, or serving the community—there’s something for everyone.

Scouting is built on principles that help young people grow into confident, active, responsible citizens. Scouts learn:

Meets Thursday evenings during school year at Mary Mother of the Church

Open to boys and girls —scouts learn and grow with help and encouragement from their parents.
Scouting builds responsibility, respect, and teamwork in a fun and supportive setting.
Every child has the chance to shine, explore new interests, and be part of something bigger.
Cub Scouting builds the foundation for leadership, citizenship, and lifelong love of the outdoors.

Meets Tuesday evenings at the Scout House

Youth-led activities and skill development in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Empowering youth to become confident leaders through engaging challenges.
Camping trips, service projects, first aid, cooking, biking, boating, swimming and hiking.
Outdoor experiences, community service, civic-engagement and leadership development.

Venturing Crew 39 (coed)

Ages 14-20

Meets monthly at various locations

Build real-world leadership, teamwork & decision-making skills to set you apart from others in life.
Rock climbing, backpacking, whitewater rafting and more. If it’s adventurous, we’re doing it.
Go places most teens never experience: mountain summits, hidden rivers and rugged backcountry.
Shared challenges and epic adventures build bonds that last a lifetime.
A place where everyone belongs, grows, and challenges themselves together.
